| Number of Windows: 9 | Number Lineal Inches: |
| Brand: Vista Windows | Window Type: Double Hungs |
| Installer: Clear Choice Windows |
| Just purchased 9 double hung windows from clear choice windows for 4900.00. The window is triple pane with krypton gas and has an R value of 10. Our salesman Rob was great with the entire presentation, and even showed up during the installation to make sure the project was going well. At about 545.00 per window, clear choice offered us high quality at the best price. our other estimates for window with similar R values were at or over 1000.00 per window. |

| My business mainly consists of home rennovation; windows, doors, siding, roofing...those types of things. I started a job this week where the homeowners wanted 9 windows replaced in their basement. Thing was, the existing were mounted into the masonry block, so I had to frame the openings out with 2x8's. I charged this couple $250 a window for everything. Taking old window out and disposal, framing, install, insulation, and aluminum wrap on exterior. The pricing on some of these posts are ridiculous! If you reside in Pennsylvania and want replacement windows, email me! I'll give you a free quote and guarantee (in writing) I'll beat any other competitors pricing. |

| We had Window Works of Illinois (sister companyof HomeWerks) out for an estimate and their representative was by far the most knowledgeable out of all other companies we interviewed. He quoted us a fair price with the promotion that was currently being run. We bought our windows for a little over 400 each but that came with Low-e , Argon , and KRYPTON blend which from my research is much better than argon. These guys sent out professional installers and the job was done the first day and CLEAN. I recommend them to anyone, and by the way, the next closest price with Krypton was over 7000. Call them 708-633-8600. It will be worth it. |

| Number of Windows: 14 | Number Lineal Inches: |
| Brand: alside | Window Type: double hung |
| Installer: castlerock |
| poor installation, no chims under large windows leading to sagging within a year. They simply covered existiting wood rot, without bringing the condition to the homeowners attention, and giving him the opportunity to have the rotten wood repaired. Found this out after another company came in to repair castlerock's work. Very poor wrapping of alluminum vinyl around brick mold of window, covering most window weepholes and leaving many sharp protruding edges. Interior window woodwork marred terribly with removal of old windows. They shatterd some windows when removing them. they do not wear safty glasses, who would have been responsible for and injury to them? Workman's truck left huge oil stain in driveway. You never park in the residential drive!!! Salesman abrupt, unreliable, change what they say with each phone call. Salesmen and managers change monthly, high turnover!!!! Check out Window World, I wish we had gone with them, I have since seen their work, looks great! |

| These guys were the greatest! The salesman was on time, well dressed and positive. He shared a ton of information with us but wasn't pushy or slimey at all. We feel we got a great price and he was the only one out of 5 reps to actually bring in a window and he did a great demo on it. My husband and I were both just laughing and enjoying it! Everyone we worked with was pleasant and helpful and the installers actually vaccuumed when they were done. I recommend Universal Windows Direct to everyone I know! |

| Did it myself after looking at DIY videos on the internet. Started with one window just to try it out. Surprised how easy it was. Simonton makes a fantastic window - very tight and with a solid feel. $4500 was the total cost - and I'll be getting a $1,350 tax credit on top of that. So, a net of $3150 |

Thanks WindowWorks and Jones family for the recommendation. I read this site before choosing who to get quotes from and I have to say THANK GOD I did!! We got prices from Feldco , Champion, and WindowWorks all of whom are very well known in the area. Window Works offered us the best value and price and they installed within 4 weeks of order when everyone else was 2 months for my exterior color. Their window was definitely stronger than the others they treated us with the most respect. No BS Sales crap like te oter two. Thansks for the help Cost Helper.

| MBJ Exteriors |
| Amount: $23,990.00 |
| Posted by: Thomas Redding in bloomington, IL. | Posted: November 2nd, 2010 05:11PM |
| Number of Windows: 31 | Number Lineal Inches: 93 |
| Brand: Home Guard | Window Type: Double Hungs/Bays |
| We bought the absolute top of the line vinyl window from Greg Mote at MBJ Exteriors. These windows are triple pane with Krypton gas, insulated frames and sashes, SuperSpacer spacer system, with all of the bells and whistles. My favorite feature, besides the energy savings, is the automatic locks. These windows are absolutely phenomenal. Since they were installed four years ago, I have referred 12 of my friends or family, who have all bought either these replacement windows or one of their other high end windows(but cost less). Greg has paid me $1500 in referral fees from it. The service from Greg Mote was probably the best experience I have had with this kind of work. |

| Overall good experience |
| Amount: $3,200.00 |
| Posted by: Gabe in Arlington, TX. | Posted: November 6th, 2010 11:11PM |
| Number of Windows: 8 | Number Lineal Inches: |
| Brand: Home Craftsman | Window Type: Single hung vinyl |
| Installer: Joe Cookson & Sons |
| I got five quotes for tax credit eligible windows to replace 8 old single pane windows. Joe Cookson & Son's originally quoted me at $3756 and I talked them down to $3200 after e-mailing a competing bid to the salesman. I signed my contract, paid $1000 down, and $2200 at completion. The windows are of good quality, and installation was performed well (1 day), however they did leave their work area kinda dirty. I had to reinstall blinds and vacuum up small debris for about an hour after they left. Besides the lack of detailed clean up, I am happy with the final product and pleased the windows work so well. I will get 30% of the windows paid for by the tax credit bringing my total net cost per window to under $300. |

| Wood clad replacement windows |
| Amount: $4,200.00 |
| Posted by: Seattle Girl in Seattle, WA. | Posted: November 10th, 2010 08:11PM |
| Number of Windows: 4 | Number Lineal Inches: 36x55 |
| Brand: Eagle | Window Type: Cottage-style double hung wood clad |
| Installer: DIY |
After considering Milgard, Jeld-Wen, Anderson, Marvin, Pella and Eagle, we just ordered four Eagle replacement windows. They are aluminum clad on the exterior and stainable vertical grain douglas fir on the interior. We were trying to recreate the original windows so we sprung for some features that cost extra, including the cottage style (smaller top sash), simulated divided light grill on top sash, antique brass hardware, and vertical grain wood. To qualify for the tax credit, they are triple pane with argon gas and low e coating. They should arrive just before Christmas (Eagle has a longer lead time than most other brands we looked at) and we will have a few days to install them in time to qualify for the 2010 tax credit. The comparable window from Marvin would have cost about $100-$200 per window. |
