Colorcraft Painting did an outstanding job on our home this summer. We thought we would have to replace our old wood windows but they restored them like new! They were very professional and courteous during the process and I would say it was worth the money to hire a professional. J.H. |

I am a licsened paint contractor of 17 years, as well as an employee of a local municipality as a painter for 12 years. I love what I do, and recomend "GLIDDEN PROFESSIONAL" for all painting needs, Check Consumer reports paint quality reviews ..you should notice glidden has 3 of the top 5, while sherwi williams does not even get in the top 20..prices are about the same. as far as spraying goes, i only spray vented soffit, all else is best to brush/roll when possible.it lasts 30% longer . I also pressure wash everything i paint no matter the condition, seal all concrete block, stucco, and brick with seal krete, it is clear primer/bonding agent that binds any remaining residue and stains so they dont affect the finished project..although Home Depot sells Glidden paint, I recomend using the glidden pro store as there TRULY are differnces..h.d.focuses on the do it your selfer, while the pro store is for the professional. The differences are the ratio of mildecide, solids, polymers, and acrylic resin, all of these extend the life of the paint..if you compare the material cost for a 300 sq ft house, the difference would be about 100$ it can last as long as -12 years on most applications while the do it your selfer paint will avg 3`-6 years for their Premium paint..material cost is a small percentage of estimate, difficulty, condition, accessibity(plants,trees,poolcages..etc,.play a huge factor in estimates and time frame for completion.i hope this helps,,if you had the patience to read this far..goodluck contact me if any?'s |

My wife and I have been given an estimate of $4850 to paint our house. We have a 1000 sq ft 1920's bungalow that is brick with stuco and wood accents. Areas that need paint are the stuco and wood accents under the eves. One side of the house is very minimal - the roof meets the brick so only under the eaves facia board. what is a fair estimate. Thanks. |

Contractor repaired eves took almost 4 days worth of work. Pressured washed the house, sanded eves, culk, epoxy filler, re-sanded, additional epoxy filler. Finally got to painting, covered all trees, plants plus covered neighbors recreational vehicle. Re-touched the eves and walls to look like new. Great job! |

House is mix of stain & paint, rough texture T-8 siding. Spray better for rough texture as it pushes the stain in with force. T-8 is very easy to spray. Develop technique or cover trim to avoid over-spray. Type of sprayer matters. I have done this four times in 21 years. First 3 times I used sprayer with air compressor for vertical surfaces and roller for eaves. This time airless sprayer ($350)and sprayed eaves with plastic on vertical surfaces for over-spray (note my gutters have same color paint as eaves). Pre-taped plastic=wonderful. Some problems with drips on siding due to inexperience with airless sprayer, but brush in pocket to smooth drip solves. Best Behr stain and paint available to me, $40/gallon. Supposedly "20 year"stain, though I don't believe that. Borrowed extension ladder. Not much prep work(mostly bleach) as I paint my house ~ every 5 years before paint peels. The stain needs re-doing before the paint, so this is necessary anyway. By the way, I am 50 yr old female. |

I thought the price of $250 was a little steep for just a front door that is mostly glass. I purchased the paint. |

Talking to some commercial realtors, this is a 'good' price [up the street, similar building was $42,000]. It's so hard to swallow the idea that I'm going to have to do it again in the next 5-7 years -- but I've seen the latex around here not holding up well. That's about $6,000 a year for paint. I don't begrudge labor costs -- I feel people need to earn a wage. I have a BIG problem with paint that doesn't last [$5,000 in paint alone]. |

A $1.10 a foot for the latex. A Affordable Painting (425) 246-0112 trim and millwork, this depends on if the doors and jambs are being painted and how much crown etc. If its a mini mansion type with book shelves, mantel, crown spindles its $3.00 a foot for the woodwork. New Cosmo home type, no jambs, doors, just sills and basboard $1.15 a foot range. You dont take out doors, windows, cabinets out. 2400 SQ FT home x (times) the number. |

Bought paint (Behr premium plus ultra) and supplies at Home Depot, rented scaffolding for two weeks, borrowed sprayer from family. Two spray coats with the first back brushed for maximum adhesion. Lots of prep work was required because the old paint was in such bad shape. Even replaced siding and trim where needed. All in all, took two of us seven weeks of evenings and weekends. Probably saved $6-8k by doing the work ourselves. |
