The break was 5 1/2 feet down. The ground had to be dough out approx. 3 feet wide by 4 feet long The soil was average and it took the person about 6 hours of digging. The repair took an additional 2 hrs and 1 hr for backfill and cleanup. In addition the line was cleaned and inspected with a camera. I feel the price of $7,200 was very high. What do you think????? |

Did it by myself. I Located the clog by tree root with a sewer snake 1/2" line. Hand dug hole was about 2'x4'with 3'deep in flower bed. The cost was for material and pipe cutting tool. I am a small person (not a plumber) with DIY mind. |

I have had no more backups since my sewer replacement, I live in west covina ca. and we have both cast iron and clay pipe here, we had 40 feet lined to seal up all the joints so the roots could not grow back in and they have not as we rented the sewer camera from Home Depot to check, which only cost us 77.00 bucks by the way. not sure what company installed it.we went with the lowest priced lic contractor. we paid $2200.00 they dug a relatively small hole out in front and came out next day to start the process it was done rather quickly i would say they also gave us a before and after video but we feel it to be quite expensive for the amount of hours, a total of 5 hrs! we saved some money on the bill because we did most of the digging hope this helps some people do your research and look hard for your plumber we looked up cheap plumbers and got Razor Rooter thats who they are I remember now Yay! |

Type: Don’t know what category this falls undr | Length: 60\' |
I live in a mobile home so the sewer line is attached to the bottom of the mobile home. So I don’t know if this falls under trench less etc.. Plumber replaced the whole sewer line at least down to where it starts to go subterranean, also he repiped my kitchen sink plumbing, added a sturdevent stack under the sink which is the code now, and also aimed the water to travel a shorter distance to the main sewer instead of going 25’ longer to hit the sewer line. |

Type: Sewer replacement and lining | Length: 50\' PVC 50\' Lining |
Feet are estimates, but with 30' bellied clay pipe causing frequent backups into the floor drains in the house, we replaced 49' of clay pipe from the edge of our property to the main line with sewer PVC and roughly 50 feet of lining from that mid-point to the inside of the house (just inside the foundation with mostly clay pipe until it transitioned to cast iron sewer pipe under the house). Expensive but worth it as we were tired of augering out the mainlines every 2-3 months. |

Bowed line underground did not drain properly to street. Replaced lines in basement too, moving them from below the concrete floor to the basement ceiling level, as the "drop" from the house to the street wasn't sufficient. New trench (pebble-filled to support line) ran from 4 feet down at house to 16 feet down at street connection, so lots of digging. 5 full days of work. 2 men for plumbing (plumber and assistant) plus 2 men for 2 backhoes (one for deep work and one for shallow work close to house.) Note: 10-year home warranty only covers underground problems for 2 years. Negotiated $18,000 price. Plumber had to address cave-in that resulted in electric company replacing broken underground power line. Make sure whoever does the work has insurance and uses caissons for deep digging. |

Just buy sewer line insurance. I don't understand why people are paying thousands of dollars to pay for new sewer lines when insurance will pick up the tab. There are several companies out there who provide this insurance and it's only 16 bucks a month! |

Type: Replaced 5 ft then lined the rest | Length: 75 |
I got totally taken from rooter town. I had replaced a 5 ft piece of pipe in the yard and the rest lined. He started out with 3500 for the replacement and once the hole was dug recommended I line the rest as now he discovered it was off on the main. For comparison ithe whole thing dug up, including street should have been about 7k. I would recommend getting estimates and watching for those that start out with saying it is a small job and once the hole is dug tell you you need more and charge outrageously for it. Very unethical. |

Type: pvc / clay | Length: 15 feet |
Mr. Rooter gave 10 and 15 year warranties for pvc partial replacement, and patching of remaining original clay. After 14 months, sewage again in basement because Mr. Rooter did not seal where they joined pvc to original clay, and roots blocked it up. Now they want $1650 to seal pipes they should have sealed in first place. What a racket. Furthermore, they are complete terrorists when you try to get them to inspect, and scream (yes, scream at you) to pay them $839.00 to look at the problem. I am a disabled person, and have no use for people who run companies like this. They just make a bad situation worse. |

City ordinances require replacement of old clay and the pipe was clogged with roots, so we replaced the line from the street to the house and cottage. The main portion of the work only took a day. |

Tree roots busted cast iron pipe and stopped water flow. Got prices for repair at $6700 with 5 year warranty or replacement of full line replacement at $8818 with 20 year transferrable warranty. My Plumber is doing the work. Line at deepest point is 12 feet down - shallowest point is 9 feet down. |

Type: 4 and 6 inch | Length: 100 |
I have not picked a plumber yet. The bids are like apples and oranges on the same line. In fact I am trying to understand why one is 8,000 and one is 13,000 and one is almost 22,000 to get sewer line approx. 100 feet from house to city connection on a rather main street. Except for lower price one, includes dealing with a catch basin in the basement that leads out to sewer. The higher price plumber says the lower bids are not covering unforeseen problems but since he was the only one to be able to camera all the way to city connection, that his bid is complete. What to do? |

We have a very old tree in our yard and due to the tree roots getting through our line, we know have a collapsed sewer line. We have an excellent plumber at ALL NITE SEWER who we trust, that replaced our sewer line with cpvc piping and did not leave a mountain of dirt in our yard as I have seen in other yards. They tamped the dirt back down to ground level and now my grass is ready to grow back. If you are looking for an honest plumber, then I would recommend All Nite Sewer to EVERYONE |

I cant believe some of you people would actually pay thousands of dollars for sewer line replacement. get down and dirty and you will save thousands. bought invesment property and had sewer problems from day 1. snaked out line 3 times in one month n knew that line had to go. went to home depot, bought pipes and fittings and spent like $150. also rented backhoe digger for 300 bucks for 24hrs. had a couple guys helping me dig. we dug out 65ft and about 3 ft deep. paid them 100 bucks each. started at 9am and finished at 7pm. btw im not a plumber. |
