How Much Does a Garden Window Cost?
 | Standard-Size Garden Window: $500-$900 |
 | Large or Unusual-Size Garden Window: $1,000-$4,000+ |
Also called a box window, a greenhouse window or a greenhouse garden window, a garden window is three-dimensional, jutting outward from the size of the building. In addition to nurturing plants, a garden window can bring in more light and give the illusion of greater space in a room. Garden windows are similar to bay windows, but are usually smaller, cover only the window area and have glass or wire shelves.
Although some high-end garden windows have a wood frame (which requires more maintenance), most are either vinyl or aluminum. Most have a large flat pane of glass placed between 14" and 18" out from the house, side windows angled back to the house and a sloping glass top. This creates a glassed-in area designed to hold small plants. Garden windows can be added to any room but are most common in kitchens. They can be installed when a window needs replacing, as part of a general renovation or as a stand-alone project.
